Menorrhagia Menorrhagia Treatment

Menorrhagia Treatment without Surgery without Hysterectomy without Dilation and Curatage

Dysfunctional Uterine Bleeding (Menorrhagia) Turning the Corner!

Looking back over my life, my menstrual cycles were often an area of concern. In my teen years, they stopped for 6 months on two different occasions, and I was always irregular. I am now 47. Ever since a miscarriage at age 21, I've had reoccurring bouts with dysfunctional uterine bleeding, varying in severity. Two times, I was close to needing a blood transfusion, so needless to say, fear would grip me at the first sign of heavy bleeding. Over the past 26 years, I've had many D and C's, blood tests, sonograms, and came close to having a hysterectomy. Birth control pills were the usual remedy, and sometimes Provera. I would eventually discontinue the pill and would be fine for several years. In more recent years, however, it was harder to get off of the pill, although I really wanted to.

Combination flowers.

I read Dr. Lee's books a few years ago, but was afraid to get off the pill because I could not find a doctor who knew anything about natural progesterone. A little over a year ago, I got brave and discontinued taking Lo-Ogestrel. I was fine for a year, but then started to show danger signs of reoccurring trouble once again. Fortunately, at just about that time, a friend referred me to Dr. Eckhart's website. Finally, I could have some oversight! I was surprised to find that my problem, which seemed such a mystery to all the doctors to date, was no big deal to Dr. Eckhart.

I slowly started making the changes to avoid xenoestrogens along with using the Progestelle. I eliminated caffeine, except for an occasional cup of coffee or tea. Primarily, I focused on what went on my skin. As with foods, I became a careful label reader. Parabens in shampoo and soaps were the first to go. My skin care products were fine, but I did have to avoid other lotions, so I switched to organic coconut oil. For deodorant, I went back to the mineral salt deodorant stone, which is working fine. I avoid plastics and styrafoam, never microwave in plastic, and store food in glass as much as possible.

I'm an independent dealer for a healthy living technology company that just came out with a unit that eliminates the need for detergents and fabric softeners, altogether, so I got one as soon as possible. Anyone wanting further information about this unit can contact me at [email protected].

Although symptoms of breast tenderness and bloating worsened during those first few months, I am happy to say I have finally turned the corner, and am doing very well. What a relief!

It still amazes me that the solution was so simple. I recommend Dr. Lee's books and Dr. Eckhart's site to practically every woman I meet. We've got to get the word out that there is another way, and that women can take charge of their own health.

Gratefully,

Linda K. Jersey Shore, PA

Elizabeth Smith, MD's Experience about Eliminating Menorrhagia

I studied John Lee, MD's book What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause with skeptics eye, yet with much anticipation. What he said finally made sense to me. As a practicing physician, in my experience and opinion, we now have a greater than 90 % success rate with menorrhagia - dysfunctional uterine bleeding. In 1999, I began to treat my menorrhagia patients with Natural Progesterone. The results were spectacular. Patients that had severe menorrhagia requiring several transfusions and then scheduled for surgery and a hysterectomy routinely stopped bleeding. The patients cancelled their surgery! Most patients got rid of their menorrhagia in 3-6 months, or even sometimes in one month! However, some patients actually temporarily got worse. These non-responders had actually taken Natural Progesterone creams that contained estrogens either in the form of estrogenic herbs or chemicals that acted like estrogen. They additionally also had large intakes of artificial chemical estrogens in their daily lives. Once these Play tennis whenever you want without menorrhagia. chemical artificial estrogens were eliminated from their environment, our success in treating menorrhagia went up again. But once again, we had several non-responders in this group. This second group of non-responders had conflicts or fights with other women or their spouse, this led to increased anxiety, stress, and fear. The increased anxiety and fear led to increased cell membrane rigidity, and decreased excretion of chemical estrogens resulting in menorrhagia. I can now say that our success with with the hundred or so patients that I have treated for menorrhagia with this multi-disciplinary approach, my feeling is that our success menorrhagia has been over 90% (although I have no hard numbers). We advocate to keep clear of chemical estrogens(xenoestrogens), take Natural Progesterone, , and repair relationships with the other females that you are in a fight with (or at least forgive them) or your spouse. [This is not a suggestion for your particular case, this is merely an observation. See your physician to see what is right for you.]

Commercial Ranchers Dose Cattle with Synthetic Estrogens to make them Bloat (Water Retention) and Grow Faster

Conventional ranchers treat their cattle with artificial estrogen to promote fast growth in the cattle and to make the cattle have water retention and bloating. Water retention in the meat makes for heavier meat (ranchers get more money) The meat is more tender. Estrogen also cause fat build up. More fat is marbled throughout the meat. The artificial estrogen growth promotant is typically a pellet that slowly releases estrogen that is implaneted under the skin behind the ear. The cattle grow Run without menorrhagia faster and on synthetic estrogen. One estrogen implant maker claims in their product literature that the cattle will grow 6 to 30% faster.

The cover story in Time Magazine (Oct. 30 , 2000) claims that chemical estrogens (xenoestrogens) in our daily lives may cause early puberty and may cause girls to grow faster. The 1997 Herman-Giddens landmark study reported 15% of girls aged 8 are sprouting breast buds and pubic hair! Furthermore, 5% of girls age 5 are having signs of puberty as well. Have you gone to look at some of the girls in middle school lately?

So what does this have to do with your menorrhagia? These same chemical estrogens (xenoestrogens) are suspected to cause menorrhagia. Scientists also speculate that xenoestrogens cause premenstrual weight gain, breast tenderness and water retention in premenstrual syndrome. Just take a more than normal dose of artificial prescription estrogen, the side effect is weight gain, water retention, and breast tenderness. But why do that? Just read the side effects of estrogen from PDR - Physicians Desk Reference or look at conventionally ranched cattle. Some physicians are still confused on these symptoms and label the symptoms as "cyclical edema". Well, if it varies with the menstural cycle, it seems to me to be hormonally related. Isn't this obvious?

A Typical Case of Menorrhagia by John Lee, MD

"If you're a woman between the ages of thirty and fifty, you know a woman, maybe yourself, who has fibroids, tender or lumpy breasts, endometriosis, PMS, difficulty conceiving or carrying a pregnancy to term, sudden weight gain, fatigue, irritability and depression, foggy thinking, memory loss, migraine headaches, very heavy or light periods, bleeding in-between periods, or cold hands and feet. These symptoms are part of premenopause for a majority of today's women, and are the result of hormone imbalances, most of them caused by an excess of the hormone estrogen, and a deficiency of the hormone progesterone."

Natural Progesterone does away with menorrhagia "Excess estrogen frequently produces irregular heavy menstrual bleeding ( menorrhagia ) as well as a host of other symptoms reflecting unopposed estrogen side effects."

*Whole grains also regulate hormonal levels due to their high levels of vitamin B and vitamin E, which have a beneficial effect on both the liver and the ovaries. In 1942, a researcher named Biskind found that B vitamin deficiency hindered the liver's ability to metabolize estrogen levels in both animal and human test subjects. The addition of B vitamin supplementation to the diet of women suffering from PMS, heavy menstrual bleeding, and fibrocystic breast disease helped to decrease the severity of their symptoms. Studies conducted at UCLA Medical School during the 1980s found that taking a specific B vitamin, pyridoxine B6, helped to relieve symptoms of menstrual cramps and PMS.

Research also conducted during the 1980s at Johns Hopkins University Medical Center similarly found, in several placebo controlled studies, that vitamin E is useful in reducing many PMS symptoms, as well as fibrocystic breast discomfort. Other studies have found that vitamin E supplementation reduced menopause related hot flashes, fatigue, and mood swings in 66 to 85 percent of the women tested, depending on the study. One additional study noted a decrease in the symptoms of vaginal atrophy in 50 percent of the postmenopausal women volunteers.
